(Before I post about today's photo adventures, I want to congratulate Padraig Harrington for his thrilling victory in the Open Championship. Dana and I have cheered for Paddy ever since interviewing him at the Buick Open and realizing that 1) he was a great guy, 2) he's Joey Harrington's (fairly distant) cousin and, most importantly, 3) he sounds exactly like the Lucky Charms leprechaun.)

I originally had plans for the evening with a friend, but the schedule just didn't work, so we decided to reschedule. As a result, I had a chance to take my time with my Tigers story, then walk a mile up Woodward to the Max Fisher Music Center for the 2007 Concert of Colors.

Good Timing: Ran into [livejournal.com profile] shadowriderhope within 30 seconds of getting there.
Bad Timing: Managed to miss [livejournal.com profile] renniekins before *and* after the concerts we were each there to see. She and Hope went to They Might Be Giants, while I went to see Larry Frantangelo's Drum Devils. Missing Ren was more frustrating since I had to cancel our plans a few days ago because of a recurrence of my on-again off-again stomach problems.
Really Bad Timing: Ran into this, while not armed...
I Have No Idea!

The concert was great. An all-percussion group isn't easy to pull off, but if anyone could do it, it would be Larry. By the end of the hour-long show, most of the crowd was up and dancing while Ja Franco sang. They did a drum circle after the show, and they asked me to stay, but I wanted to see Britt, who was finally home after her nine-day camping trip.

(By the way, Britt seems to have inherited my ability with a camera. She took some spectacular pictures.)

After the cut, some random pictures from the Concert of Colors, and from my walks up and down Woodward. There's an enormous set at Flickr.
